NGC 821 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E6 in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 80 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light-years across.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on September 4, 1786 .
