NGC 800 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is around 268 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 80,000 ly. Together with NGC 799 , it forms the gravitationally bound galaxy pair Holm 54 or KPG 52 .
The object was discovered on October 9, 1885 by the astronomer Lewis Swift with a 41 cm telescope.
