NGC 795 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is an estimated 255 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 27, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
