Renate Gruber (* 12. September 1967 in Scheibbs as Renate Rakwetz ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Gruber has been the mayor of Gaming since 2009 . From March 22, 2018 to October 22, 2019, she was a member of the National Council and from 2013 to 2018 a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

Gruber attended elementary and secondary school in Gaming and completed an apprenticeship as a hairdresser and wig maker after completing the polytechnic course. She passed the final apprenticeship examination and worked as a hairdresser in Purgstall an der Erlauf for three years . In 1988, she joined the market community of Gaming as a contract employee. In 2004 she made up her Matura in her second educational path , and in 2006 she was entrusted with the management of the Gaming Tourism Office.

Gruber lives in a community and is the mother of two children.

politics

Gruber began her political career in 2005 as an executive councilor in Gaming, and in 2009 she was elected mayor. As a result, she attended the women's academy of the Federal SPÖ from 2011 to 2012. She represented the SPÖ in the state parliament of Lower Austria from April 24, 2013.

She succeeded Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig as a member of the National Council on March 22, 2018 . After the National Council election in 2019 , she left the National Council.
