Renato Angiolillo (born August 4, 1901 in Ruoti , Province of Potenza , † August 16, 1973 in Rome ) was an Italian journalist , politician and film director .

Life

Angiolillo worked as a journalist for the Giornale della Sera , directed by his brother Ugo , L'Eco della Sicilia e delle Calabrie and Il Lavoro , a daily newspaper in Genoa . Under the fascists he worked as a publisher and film producer and only occasionally wrote under a pseudonym for newspapers. In 1944 he founded Il Tempo with a license from the allied liberators of Rome , which he directed until his death. Occasionally he worked for the cinema; he wrote a handful of scripts, and on a one-off occasion he also worked as a (co-) director. The film Semper più difficile , for which he also wrote the screenplay, was made in 1943.

From May 8, 1948 to June 24, 1953, the first legislative term, he was elected as an independent candidate in Bari on a list of the Partito Liberale Italiano in the Senate of Italy .
