Renato Cappellini (born October 9, 1943 in Soncino ) is a former Italian football player .
Career
Cappellini comes from the offspring of Inter Milan . At the age of nineteen, the striker made his debut under coach Helenio Herrera in 1963 , but was initially unable to assert himself in the famous team and was awarded to CFC Genoa for a year .
From 1963 to 1968 Cappellini completed 65 appearances for Inter and scored 22 goals. In 1966 he became Italian champions with Inter. The high point of his career at Inter was the 1967 European Cup final in Lisbon, where Inter lost 2-1 to Celtic Glasgow . Cappellini was then named the best U-23 player.
From 1968 Cappellini played for AS Varese , AS Roma , Como Calcio and FC Chiasso . In 1977 he ended his sporting career.
Cappellini played two games in 1967 for the Italian national team - against Cyprus and Portugal - whereby he scored the equalizer in the latter game.
