Renaud Muselier (born May 6, 1959 in Marseille ) is a French politician of Les Républicains .

Life

Muselier studied medicine and was later director of a clinic in Marseille. He was initially a member of the French party Rassemblement pour la République , which was merged into the Union pour un Mouvement Populaire (UMP) in 2002. Since the end of May 2015, this party has been called Les Républicains after internal disputes . From 1992 to 1995 he represented the canton of Marseille-Notre-Dame-du-Mont in the General Council of the Bouches-du-Rhône department . From April 2, 1993 to July 19, 2002 and from June 19, 2007 to June 24, 2012, Muselier was a member of the National Assembly . In the Raffarin III cabinet (2004-2005) he was State Secretary in the French Foreign Ministry. Muselier has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 . There he is a member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism . Since May 15, 2017, he has succeeded Christian Estrosi as Chairman of the General Council of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region (PACA).
