Career

Verschuren comes from a sporty family. His father was active as a basketball player in the first division, his mother played korfball and his brother volleyball . Renzo Verschuren started out with soccer and switched to volleyball at the age of sixteen. He played for ten years for the Dutch first division club Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande . In 2005 the middle blocker won the national double of championship and cup victory with the club. Rotterdam also reached the final in the Top Teams Cup . In the same year, the trained sports teacher made his debut in the Dutch national team . In 2006 and 2007 he was able to repeat his championship and cup successes. He was then committed by the German Bundesliga club Moerser SC . After two years he moved to evivo Düren within the Bundesliga , where he missed a large part of the season due to an injury. That's why he returned to Rotterdam. In 2011 he came back to Germany to the RWE Volleys Bottrop . When Bottrop got into financial difficulties at the end of the year, Verschuren played a second time at Moerser SC in spring 2012.
