Repeater Buttress (formerly Irn Bru Buttress ) is a large, 250 m high cliff on the West Antarctic Adelaide Island . It rises up between the Exhibition Buttress and the Ammo Col from the Reptile Ridge above the Rothera station .
British Antarctic Survey employees named it after Irn-Bru , a soft drink popular in Scotland . However, the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee changed its name in 2005 when a repeater station was built on the cliff between 1997 and 1998 .
