Reptile Youth is one of Copenhagen coming band , which was founded in 2009 by Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen and Esben Valloe and appeared first as "Reptile & Retard".
history
Reptile Youth are considered to be an excellent live band that was able to quickly build a reputation as the “next big thing” through their excessive performances. The band sees itself as "a rebellion, a dream, a Dadaist fuck you movement of the 21st century".
While the group is still considered an insider tip in Europe , it has already gained greater popularity in China , which has brought the Danes headlines such as “Big in China” and “Danish Cultural Revolution”.
In 2011, together with The Cure producer David M. Allen, work began on the first studio album, which was released in the summer of 2012 on the Hamburg label hfn music . The reviews fluctuated between praise and disillusionment that the much-cited physical live experience per se cannot be produced in the studio.
style
In their music, the duo uses stylistic devices from a wide variety of musical styles such as indie , pop , rock , punk or electro and thus create an innovative sound: “From electro beats to punk / rock guitar scraps to psychedelic sixties soul”.
