UN Security Council resolution 1441

The UN Resolution 1441 was on 8. November 2002 by the United Nations Security Council adopted during its 4644th meeting.

It calls on Iraq to unconditionally accept the previous resolutions of the Security Council and gives it the last opportunity to fulfill its obligations regarding the control and destruction of its weapons of mass destruction , which it continues to actively boycott ( proactive stance). He was also convicted again for supporting terrorism, for suppressing his population and for continuing to occupy the territories he had conquered in Kuwait in violation of international law. The Security Council reiterated that its previous UN Resolution 678 authorized all UN member states to use “all necessary means” to enforce compliance and that non-compliance could result in “serious consequences”. Furthermore, Iraq is requested to grant the UN security inspectors and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) unrestricted access to the weapons production facilities. The Iraqi government was given an ultimatum until November 15th to accept this resolution, which it did on November 13th . Then, after four years, a team of gun inspectors was sent back to Baghdad , led by Hans Blix and Mohammed el-Baradei .
