Resorte ( Spanish for "mainspring") is a Mexican heavy metal band.

history

The band from Ciudad Satélite quickly succeeded in building a fan base with their heavy, bass-heavy rhythms and direct song lyrics after their formation in 1995. After their independently filmed video for América , their debut single, was also played on MTV, the band was able to hire the living color guitarist Vernon Reid to produce their first album, which was titled República de ciegos (in German: Republic of the Blind , 1997 ) received. Both the first single and the long player, characterized by heavy guitar riffs and politically charged lyrics, followed directly from the success of their early live appearances, followed by further appearances in several Latin American countries with groups such as Green Day .

With Jason Roberts as producer and a new bass player, they worked on their second album, XL, in Los Angeles in 1999 . Roberts After its release, the group toured Mexico, the US and other cities in Latin America, while Caliente , a release that reached MTV Latino's Top 20. They later played as support for US bands like Limp Bizkit on their visits to Mexico. In 2000 they released Version 3.0 , a B-side EP .

After changing the line-up and the label, the band released their last studio album to date , rebota (F = kx) in 2002 , which was re-recorded in North Hollywood by Jason Roberts. The band then largely withdrew. A new album has been announced for 2012.
