The rescue service cooperation in Schleswig-Holstein (RKiSH) gGmbH is the amalgamation of the rescue services in the districts of Dithmarschen , Pinneberg , Rendsburg-Eckernförde , Segeberg and Steinburg .
The rescue service cooperation based in Heide was founded on January 1st, 2005 by the districts of Dithmarschen, Pinneberg and Rendsburg-Eckernförde. In these circles , the rescue service (emergency rescue and qualified ambulance transport) had not been carried out by aid organizations , but on their own.
Since January 1, 2007, the RKiSH has also taken over the rescue service in the Steinburg district with four rescue guards after the district terminated the contract with the DRK rescue service .
There are 44 ambulance stations manned around the clock in the RKiSH area. In Schleswig-Holstein , uniform ambulances from GSF are mostly used, which are deployed according to the multi-purpose vehicle strategy.
The founding of the gGmbH was not without controversy among the Pinneberg employees and a public petition was even planned. After tough negotiations between the ver.di union and the district administration, this was not carried out, and so the main committee of the Pinneberg district decided on December 8, 2004 to carry out this.
At the beginning of 2019, the decision of the district council of the Segeberg district of December 8, 2016 to join the RKiSH was implemented.
