The Mariahilf rescue station of the Municipal Department MA 70 - Rescue and Health Transport Service of the City of Vienna is one of the eleven urban rescue stations in Vienna , is one of the most frequented rescue stations in Austria and also ranks among the top in a European comparison.

The Mariahilf rescue station in Mariahilf , Mariahilfer Gürtel 20, was opened on February 1, 1905 as the Graf Wilczek Foundation House as the first branch of the Vienna Voluntary Rescue Society. The construction was supported on the one hand by the Ministry of Finance through a concession in the transfer of the property and by the construction companies involved in the construction, who granted generous discounts. Nathaniel Freiherr von Rothschild appeared as a major donor.

Originally, the Mariahilf rescue station, equipped with five rescue vehicles - two of which were always on duty - supplied districts 5 to 8, parts of the 10th and districts 12 to 18 within the belt. For 1925, the statistics indicate 15,474 assistance. Currently around 250,000 people in Margareten , Mariahilf, Neubau , Josefstadt and Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus as well as parts of neighboring districts are supplied. In 2008 there were 18,115 missions.

Since the existing building between the Gürtel and Wallgasse opposite the Maria vom Siege church no longer meets modern requirements, it was rebuilt in two stages while operations continued.

In the new building, officially opened on May 6, 2009, in which 54 paramedics and six emergency doctors are on duty, eleven parking spaces for emergency vehicles have been set up in the emergency garage and a further ten in the underground car park. Five emergency vehicles are currently permanently stationed. In addition, office space was created in the eight-storey building for the municipal department MA 67 - parking space management.
