The Rex River is a river in King County , Washington state . It has its source near the main ridge of the Cascade Range and flows northwest to its confluence with the Cedar River in the Chester Morse Lake reservoir. The Cedar River flows into Lake Washington and eventually into Puget Sound via the Lake Washington Ship Canal . The Rex River's tributaries include Pine Creek, Lindsay Creek, and Boulder Creek.

The Rex River, with its 34.7 square kilometers catchment area, lies entirely within the Cedar River Municipal Watershed, an area managed by the City of Seattle that provides about two-thirds of the water supply for the greater Seattle area.
