The Reykjarfjörður is a fjord in the Westfjords of Iceland .
It is located in the southern arm of Arnarfjörður and is the smallest of the so-called Suðurfirðir . The fjord is west of Trostansfjörður and east of Fossfjörður . The unpaved Bíldudalsvegur runs around Reykjarfjörður
. It connects Patreksfjörður with Vestfjarðavegur
to the north. The fjord extends two kilometers into the country and is almost one kilometer wide. Inside the fjord there is a small outdoor swimming pool ( Reykjarfjarðarsundlaug ), which is fed by local hot springs. For a long time there was the double farm Neðri- and Fremri-Reykjafjörður ( Icelandic Lower and Front Smoke Fjords ) in this fjord . Both have since been given up.
