Rhagadiolus stellatus is a species of the sunflower family (Asteraceae).
features
Rhagadiolus stellatus is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 20 to 50 centimeters. The basal leaves are lanceolate to narrowly inverted, indistinctly petiolate and almost entire, toothed or pinnately fissured with closely spaced lateral leaflets. Most of the 8 inner bracts have short, rough hairs on the back, at least at the tip. The fruits are 15 to 20 millimeters long and clearly curved.
The flowering period extends from March to June.
Occurrence
Rhagadiolus stellatus occurs in the Mediterranean area. On Crete, the species grows on cultivated and fallow land, on ruderal sites, in open phrygana and in pine forests at altitudes from 0 to 1400 meters.
