Rhine is one of 260 villages ( Villages ) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan . It is to the southeast of the Census Division No. 9 within the municipality of Wallce No. 243 . The place was named after the river Rhine .

The place is also known for the cultivation of industrial cannabis , which is the main export good. Cultivated in Canada for the first time in 1928, the Rhine owned approximately 809.371 m² (0.2 acres) of a total of 6663.845 m² (1.640 acres) from 1938.

Demographics

During the 2001 census, the Rhine had 175 inhabitants. By 2006, this value sank by −8.0% to 161. In a new census from 2011, 158 people lived within the village. According to the last survey in 2016, 170 inhabitants were registered in the Rhine. The population value thus increased by 7.6%. The average age is 15 to 64 years.
