The Rheinalleetunnel is a road tunnel in the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf . It is an important road connection to and from Düsseldorf from the west. To the west you come to the A52 , to the east to the Rheinkniebrücke and the city center. The actual tunnel is 650 m long, with the entry and exit ramp it is more than a kilometer. The tunnel was built between 1967 and 1969 and opened to traffic in October 1969. The construction costs at that time amounted to around 39 million D-Marks (around 73 million euros in today's purchasing power).

The tunnel has two lanes per tube, each four meters wide. The emergency walkways are 1.20 meters (inside) and 0.70 meters (outside) wide. The operations center is located in front of the west portal (Düsseldorfer Straße 211). The Rheinallee with a large green area runs above the tunnel. The tunnel was last modernized in 2009.
