Rhenish Chamber of Notaries

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rheinische Notarkammer is a chamber of notaries in the Rhineland with its seat in Cologne.

history

The establishment of chambers of notaries was first envisaged in the Rhineland under Napoleon , through the so-called Ventôse law of March 16, 1803 and the ordinance on the chambers of notaries of December 24, 1803. On this basis, a separate one was created for each of the 15 Rhenish arrondissements Chamber of notaries set up, for example for the arrondissements of Cologne , Bonn , Aachen , Crefeld and Cleve .

With the Rhenish Notarial Order issued in 1822, the chambers of notaries were abolished again.

The 1937 Reichsnotarordnung provided for local chambers of notaries again. Separate chambers of notaries were set up for each of the higher regional courts in Düsseldorf and Cologne. In order to preserve the unity of the Rhenish notary's office and to be able to better tie in with the work of the recently disbanded Rhenish Notarial Association, the two chambers of notaries set up a joint office in Cologne, namely in the business premises of the former notary's association.

In November 1949, the Rhenish Chamber of Notaries was created by merging the chambers of notaries in Düsseldorf and Cologne .

The Rhenish Chamber of Notaries is characterized by the fact that it has both notaries-only and lawyer-notaries (in the Duisburg regional court district with the exception of Duisburg-Rheinhausen on the left bank of the Rhine and in the Emmerich district court district ) as members.
