The Rhinos Milano are an Italian American football team from Milan . The team was founded in 1975, making it the oldest American football team in Europe.

history

The team was founded on January 9, 1975 under the name Pantere Rosa di Piacenza . On October 16, 1976, it played its first documented game. Opponents were the Camp Darby Rangers, a team from the NATO base in Tirrenia . In the first game between two Italian teams, the Rhinos competed on June 25, 1978 against the Frogs founded a year earlier in Busto Arsizio and clearly won this first national clash with 34: 0.

In 1981 the Rhinos took part in the first official Italian championship. As the unbeaten first of the main round, they met the second-placed Frogs in the final . With a 24: 8 victory, the Rhinos secured the championship with a perfect season . The Rhinos also won the championship title in the following two seasons. They only left once, in the 1982 season against the Grizzlies Roma, as a loser.
