Rhipsalis crispimarginata is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rhipsalis crispimarginata grows epiphytically with richly branched shoots of limited growth and reaches a length of 1.5 to 1.8 meters. The medium green, two-winged, flat shoots are cylindrical and wedge-shaped at their base. Its tip is trimmed. They are 9 to 20 inches long and 1 to 5 millimeters thick. The areoles are covered with one to three bristles.

The greenish or white flowers appear individually or in pairs and reach a diameter of 12 to 16 millimeters. The spherical, bare fruits are pale pink in color.

Systematics and distribution

Rhipsalis crispimarginata is widespread in the Brazilian states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in the Atlantic rainforest .

It was first described in 1818 by Albert Löfgren . Wilhelm Barthlott and Nigel Paul Taylor treated the species in 1995 as a synonym for Rhipsalis oblonga . However, it differs from this species in that it has larger and wider shoot sections, smaller areoles and glassy, ​​pink-colored fruits.
