The desmopuntius rhomboocellatus ( desmopuntius rhomboocellatus ( Synonyms : Barbus kahajani Hoedeman, 1956 & Barbus tetrazona , Bleeker, 1856, Puntius rhomboocellatus , systomus rhomboocellatus )) is a freshwater fish of the family of carp fish (Cyprinidae). It is endemic only in the south of the Indonesian island of Kalimantan in the Kapuas and Kahayan rivers and in the vicinity of Banjarmasin .

The rhombic barb becomes seven centimeters long. Their body is typical of the Desmopuntius species and is only slightly flattened on the sides. Their basic color is reddish, the back is brownish to greenish, the sides have a silvery shimmer. The sides of the body are patterned by some dark, often rhombus-shaped and then light-centered transverse bands, the first of which runs through the eye. The last cross band is on the tail fin stalk. A black spot is below the last rays of the dorsal fin, another, which is only visible from below, between the pelvic fins. The fins are colorless, only the first dorsal fin ray is black. Females have a significantly larger body.
