Richard Abelein

Richard Abelein (born June 24, 1891 in Munich ; † August 6, 1973 ) was a German veterinarian.

Life

Abelein was the son of Colonel Karl Abelein and studied at the University of Munich . In 1919 he received his doctorate. med. vet. PhD at the University of Leipzig. He then ran a private practice in Munich until 1935, which he took over again after the war ended in 1945. There he worked as a specialist veterinarian for breeding damage. In 1932 he became a member of the NSDAP .

From November 1, 1935 to 1945 he was an associate professor for obstetrics and breeding diseases at the University of Munich. In 1956 he retired .

Abelein played a key role in the introduction of insemination in Bavaria and research into the trichomonas disease in cattle.
