Richard Ahlers

Richard Ahlers (born December 21, 1884 , † December 24, 1950 in Bremen ) was a German lawyer and politician. He was a member of the Bremen citizenship ( BDV , CDU ).

biography

Ahlers studied law and received his doctorate Dr. jur. He worked as a lawyer and notary in Bremen. He was married. He was buried in the Bremen-Riensberg cemetery.

He was a member of the Bremen Democratic People's Party and then from 1947 in the CDU. He was for the BDV 1945/46 and for the CDU from 1947 to 1949 in the second electoral period for three years a member of the Bremen citizenship and in the citizenship in various deputations . His first mandate in the Appointed Bremen Citizenship was revoked on instructions from the US military government in July 1946. He resigned his second mandate prematurely due to illness.

Memberships

  • Ahlers was President of the Church Committee of the Bremen Evangelical Church in 1942 and 1945/1946 . In 1941 he sued Heinrich Weidemann, the regional bishop of Bremen . He was dismissed from the position of President in 1946 by the US military government because he is said to have not pursued denazification vigorously enough. Spitta reports that the church committee initially did not approve the procedure. His successor was the lawyer and theologian Ferdinand Donandt.
  • From 1945 he was President of the Bremen Philharmonic Society
  • 1947/1948 he was chairman of the Bremen club .
