Richard Gutzschbach
Richard Gutzschbach , actually Richard Gutzschebauch ( 1840 in Großstorkwitz - November 4, 1921 in Dresden ) was a German opera singer ( baritone ).
Life
According to his parents' wishes, Gutzschbach was to become a teacher and, after completing his studies, also worked for a longer period as such at the high school in Chemnitz.
But because of his voice, he felt compelled to give up this job and study singing in Dresden at the Music Conservatory with Professor Gustav Scharfe .
After completing his studies, he was immediately engaged at the Saxon court theater in 1866, where he worked for almost 40 years.
He was considered a great interpreter of Wagner.
