Richard Harris Barham
Richard Harris Barham (born December 6, 1788 in Canterbury , England , † June 17, 1845 in London ) was an English poet .
Life
Richard Barham was after completing his studies in 1813 for the spiritual ordained office. He wrote comical and humorous prose and verse narratives, which were published as Ingoldsby legends from 1837 . Barham's works are characterized by a macabre wit and a clear focus on the grotesque.
