Richard Heinberg (born October 21, 1950 ) is an American journalist , author , musician and illustrator and lecturer at the New College of California . He published on energy, economic and ecological topics.

Life

Heinberg became Immanuel Velikovsky's personal assistant after two years at college and personal studies, and in November 1979, after Velikovsky's death, assistant to his wife.

His first book, Memories and Visions of Paradise: Exploring the Universal Myth of a Lost Golden Age , was published in 1989. In 2003 his book, The party's over, was published on the global oil peak .

He currently works as a scientist at the Post Carbon Institute and as the author of the MuseLetter .

Heinberg lives in Santa Rosa , California and is married to Janet Barocco.
