Richard Kriese

Richard Kriese (born September 23, 1925 in Łódź , Poland ; † April 5, 2019 in Gaggenau ) was a German Baptist pastor . In the 1970s he became known as a federal evangelist of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches and pastor of Evangeliums-Rundfunk in the entire German-speaking area .

Life

Kriese initially worked as an engineer, but then decided to study theology at the Theological Seminary in Hamburg-Horn . Then he was parish pastor in the Baptist congregations in Witten and Herten . From 1969 to 1977 he worked as an editor and head of the pastoral care department at Evangeliums-Rundfunk . As Federal Evangelist its Free Church traveled Kriese until his retirement in 1988 the entire German-speaking world and established his brand evangelism Evangelia which at that time still unusual method of mass evangelization in secular spaces such as city or gyms rather than in church halls.

Richard Kriese was married to Angelika Kriese-Schultheiß in 2003 after the death of his first wife Berti in 2001. He last lived in Gaggenau until his death and was buried in Wetzlar.
