Richard Lange (sculptor)
Richard W. Lange (* 1879 in Germany ; † 1944 ) was a German sculptor .
Life
For a long time he studied art and sculpture in Nuremberg, Berlin and Rome. He was known for his chryselephantine bronze and ivory works in the Art Deco style , which embodied German cultural themes.
His bronzes were handcrafted by the Berlin foundry Rosenthal & Maeder , and later (after they were taken over in 1929) by Preiss & Kassler . He also designed some table lamps, including the flower boy and the parachutist .
