Richard Leutner

Richard Leutner (born June 10, 1955 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a former member of the National Council .

education and profession

Leutner attended elementary school in Vienna from 1961 to 1965 and then moved to a federal high school, where he graduated in 1973. He then studied law and political science at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1979 with the academic degree Dr. iur. from. In 1979 Leutner did his military service.

Leutner worked from 1979 to 1980 for the Vienna Chamber of Labor in the social policy department and from 1980 worked in the social policy department of the ÖGB . Between 1986 and 1997 he headed the social policy department of the ÖGB. Between 1997 and December 2007 he was chief secretary of the ÖGB.

Since 2008 he has been one of the two board members of Agrarmarkt Austria as the successor to Werner Weihs .

politics

Leutner has been the Chamber Councilor of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Vienna since 1986 and from 1989 was the first Vice-President of the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance Institutions . Between 1991 and 1997 he was president of the main association. Leutner has been a member of the ÖGB Presidium since 1997. From July 6, 2004 to October 29, 2006 he represented the SPÖ in the National Council.
