Richard Lewis (producer)

Richard Lewis (born January 2, 1920 in New York City , † May 25, 2009 in Somers , New York ) was an American television producer .

Life

Lewis graduated from Yale University and has worked for radio programs since 1940. He later switched to television, where he produced television series such as Dezernat M and Wagon Train for Revue Productions and Universal Television in the 1950s . Anthology series such as "General Electric Theater" or "Studio 57" were also created under his supervision . In 1961, Lewis was among the experts heard by a Senate committee on juvenile delinquency on television.

Between 1968 and 1972 he produced three feature films.
