Richard Lienhard

Richard Lienhard (* 1919 ; † July 2014 ) was a Swiss lawyer , journalist and former politician ( SP ).

Life

Lienhard grew up in the canton of Schaffhausen . He studied law and received his doctorate in 1944 from the University of Bern . In 1952 he joined the SP. From 1954 he lived in Zurich , where he was elected district court president in 1961 . Also from 1961 he was a member of the Zurich City Council for twenty years . From 1960 to 1980 he was editor of the social democratic magazine Rote Revue or Profil . In 1984 he left the SP, after which he was close to the Zurich SVP.
