Richard Lorenz (* 1972 in Freising ) is a German writer .

life and work

Richard Lorenz worked as a nurse in oncological care and palliative medicine . He has been writing short stories since the early 1990s . In 2012 the actress Katharina Wackernagel read his short story Amerika-Plakate , which was broadcast on 1 Live the following year . The novel of the same name was created on the basis of this short story and appeared in Edition Phantasia in 2014 .
At Christmas 2015, he initially wrote the novella
So Dark the Night exclusively for the literary blog dandelion , which was included a little later as a special edition in the book series Cthulhu Libria . This edition is limited to 80 copies and was sold out before the official release date. Lorenz's second novel Frost, Erna Piaf und der Heilige will not be published as an e-book by Transit Buchverlag , as originally announced for 2014 , but, like its debut, in Edition Phantasia. In 2015, his short story So Dark the Night was awarded the Vincent Prize .
