After studying literature with Walter Höllerer and completing his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin in 1971, Nitsche worked as a freelance worker at the Berlin branch of the Luchterhand publishing house and lectured at the Technical University. He was denied his habilitation because of criminal convictions in student newspapers. He was initially a teacher at the Berlin School for Adult Education and from 1978 to 1983 also managing director of Mehringhof GmbH . Gudrun Fröba takes on the layout and design of the publishing program, while Nitsche proofreads the books.
