Richard Ludloff

Paul Hermann Richard Ludloff (born December 30, 1860 in Coburg , † after 1913) was a German translator , author and poet .

Life

Richard Ludloff first studied medicine and later stayed in North and South America for about 10 years. From 1895 he lived as a private scholar on the Wunderburg near Erlangen . Around 1910 he worked at the University of Erlangen in the field of philosophy .

He was an avowed Freemason and is said to be the first German to translate the Argentine poets Olegario Victor Andrade , Vincente Lopez y Planes , Juan Chassaing , Ricardo Gutierrez and Florenzio Varela from Spanish into German. This work was published in three volumes in 1910 as Argentine Poetry .

Ludloff published an extensive curriculum vitae of Olegario Victor Andrade (in volume 1) and Vincente Lopez y Planes (in volume 2) in his Argentinian poems .

The work Das Parakletasyl deals with the second oldest Masonic lodge in Bavaria in Erlangen and its title is an unusual word creation from the words Paraklet and Asylum .

Richard Ludloff was in correspondence with Paul Heyse , Ludwig Schemann and Elias von Steinmeyer .

He was the youngest son of Louis Ludloff and was unmarried.

Trivia

To 1890/91 gave Ludloff the Natural History Society Nuremberg a coati for the zoological collection.

According to the blurb of Das Parakletasyl 1913, all income from book sales went to the Masonic Lodge Lebanon at the 3 Ceders in Erlangen. Ludloff had renounced all rights. Ernst Clausen is quoted in the introduction .

I.a. In 2016 the Argentine seals were reissued. The blurb of the newly published work reads: This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
