Richard Michaels (born February 15, 1936 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American film director and script supervisor .

Michaels began his career in the film business as a script supervisor, mainly for various television series from the mid-1950s. From the end of the 1960s he began to work as a director and directed a. a. more than 50 episodes of the series In Love with a Witch . From the 80s until well into the 1990s, he also made numerous television films. In 1979 and 1980 he won the Christopher Award for one of his productions.

Michaels is married for the third time. He was u. a. married actress Kristina Hansen from 1959 to 1962, with whom he has two children, including daughter Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum . The marriage failed due to an alleged affair with actress Elizabeth Montgomery , whom he met while filming.
