Richard August Gerhard Ohling (born January 9, 1908 in Celle ; † 1985 ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending school in Minden and Cologne , Ohling became an apprentice at the Darmstadt and National Bank in Cologne in 1923. In 1926 he left Germany to spend a year in the USA to improve his English skills. After his return he worked for several companies in Cologne as a commercial clerk until February 1931.

At the age of 17, Ohling joined the NSDAP in 1925. First he was an SA man and block warden , then cashier of the NSDAP local group and then local group leader Cologne-Mülheim. From January 1931 he built the NSBO in the Cologne-Aachen district. From June 1933 to May 1935 he was regional manager Rhineland of the DAF .

Due to embezzlement, he had to answer before a criminal court and a party court in 1935. Nevertheless, from July 1935 to June 1936 he was in command of the construction site of the NS-Ordensburg Vogelsang . Then he was head of the Reich Main Office of the DAF in Berlin until the end of February 1937 . In the spring of 1937 he was appointed head of propaganda in the Cologne-Aachen district. At the same time he headed the Reich Propaganda Office Cologne-Aachen. In addition, he was regional culture warden and reached the rank of SA-Obersturmbannführer at this time.

On November 12, 1933, Ohling was elected to the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 19 (Hessen-Nassau) . He was a member of the Reichstag until the end of the war. In 1943 he was an SS Standartenführer .
