Richard Pfeiffer (painter)
Richard Pfeiffer (born August 26, 1878 in Breslau , † April 21, 1962 in Berlin ) was a German painter .
Life
After studying at the State Academy for Art and Applied Arts in Breslau and the Art Academy in Munich , he worked with the youth and the Simplicissimus . After a three-year stay in Italy , he returned to Munich in 1905. In 1910 he was appointed professor at the Königsberg Art Academy . He created the murals in the auditorium of Elblag grammar school , in the Lutheran Evangelical Church Šilutė in Lithuania , in the crematorium of Tilsit and in the Neurossgarten Church . Retired in 1932, he moved to Berlin, where he worked as a freelance artist .
Richard Pfeiffer was married to the painter and illustrator Gertrud Pfeiffer-Kohrt (1875–1939), the couple had two children, Hans Ludwig Pfeiffer (1903–1999) and Riccarda Gregor-Grieshaber (1907–1985), both of whom were also artistically active .
