Career

Fernandez began his professional career in his hometown with ADO Den Haag , for which he played eleven times in the Eerste Divisie in the 2007/08 season and scored one goal. After the promotion, however, he received no playing time in the first team under the new coach André Wetzel , so that he moved to SBV Excelsior in Rotterdam during the winter break of 2008/09 . In his two and a half years there, the striker, who can be used in all positions, was able to develop further and was on the field for Excelsior 31 times in the 2010/11 season , scoring ten goals.

For the 2011/12 season Fernandez moved to Feyenoord - and thus to the club whose fan he has been since childhood. In summer 2013 he was loaned to PEC Zwolle for one year . There he won the Dutch Football Cup . Fernandez scored two goals in the 5-1 final win over Ajax Amsterdam .
