Richard Rühlmann

Moritz Richard Rühlmann (born May 13, 1846 in Dresden ; † November 19, 1908 in Döbeln ) was a German mathematician, educator and politician.

Life

Rühlmann, a son of the musician Julius Adolf Rühlmann (1816–1877), studied mathematics and physics at the Polytechnic School in Dresden from 1860 and mathematics, natural sciences and ancient languages ​​at the universities of Leipzig and Berlin from 1865 . In Dresden, Rühlmann became a member of the Corps Teutonia . After receiving his doctorate in 1867, he became an assistant and private lecturer at the Polytechnic Karlsruhe in 1868 , where he qualified as a professor in 1869. In 1870 he got a job as a senior teacher. In 1876 he became professor of mathematics and physics at the Chemnitz grammar school . From 1885 to 1889 he was editor of the electrical engineering magazine . In 1889 he became rector of the Realgymnasium in Döbeln, since 1906 with the title of senior teacher.

Since 1905, Rühlmann was Albert Niethammer's successor for the 9th urban electoral district, a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates Assembly of the Kingdom of Saxony for the National Liberal Party .
