Richard Reiff
Richard August Reiff (born May 26, 1855 in Tübingen ; † July 9, 1908 in Stuttgart ), was a German physicist and mathematician.
Richard August Reiff, born in Tübingen as the son of the philosopher Jakob Friedrich Reiff , studied in Tübingen and Berlin, was repetent and then ao professor of mathematics in Tübingen, then a high school teacher (rector) a. a. in Böblingen and Heilbronn , later in the ministerial department for higher education in Württemberg. In 1902, together with Arnold Sommerfeld , he wrote the (science-historical) article electricity and optics standpoint of action at a distance in the encyclopedia of mathematical sciences . His story of the infinite series has been reissued until recently.
Since 1873 he was a member of the student union Akademische Gesellschaft Stuttgardia Tübingen .
