Richard de Sade

Richard de Sade (* after 1600; † June 27, 1663 ) was a French nobleman of the 17th century from the House of Sade . He was the second son of Count Balthazar de Sade and Diane de Baroncelli-Javon.

He received a doctorate in theology from the University of Avignon . In 1634 he received the benefice of the Canon of San Lorenzo in Damaso . He became the Pope's chamberlain and vice-governor of Tivoli and Ravenna . In 1662 he became Grand Vicar, on March 14, 1663 Bishop of Cavaillon . In 1663 he was envoy of the County of Venaissin in Rome.

He died on June 27, 1663, his tomb is in the church of San Lorenzo in Damaso in Rome.
