Auguste Hüssener (* 1789 or 1799 in Stettin ; † February 13, 1877 in Berlin ) was a German engraver and miniature painter.

Auguste Hüssener was a daughter of the businessman Christian Philipp Hüssener (* probably October 18, 1761 in Lübeck; † November 14, 1833 in Berlin) and Juliane (Julie), née Stübert.

At the end of the 1820s she was a student of the copper engraver Ludwig Buchhorn , who had been a lecturer at the Prussian Academy of the Arts since 1814 and was entrusted with the management of the academic copper engraving school from 1824 . Auguste Hüssener exhibited regularly at the annual exhibitions of the Berlin Academy from 1828 to 1860. She became known for her portraits of celebrities from high nobility, art circles, diplomacy and science. The portraits of contemporary women, such as the Swedish nightingale Jenny Lind or the dancer Lola Montez , formed a special focus . Much of her work was based on the templates of other artists.

Julie Hüssener was married to the painter and Hensel student Eduard Ratti ( Eduard Ludwig Johann Ratti ; * 1816 in Berlin ?; † after 1888 in Venice), whose pictures Auguste Hüssener often used as a model.
