Richmond is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . The constituency is located in the extreme northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales on the Pacific coast. It includes the towns of Tweed Heads , Murwillumbah and Byron Bay . The constituency was founded in 1901, making it one of the first 75 constituencies in Australia. It was named after the Richmond River .

Justine Elliot of the Australian Labor Party has been the incumbent MP for the constituency since 2004 .
