Rickard Claesson (born March 19, 1977 in Kinnarumma ) is a Swedish football player . The goalkeeper has played in Sweden and Norway in his career so far.

Career

Claesson played in his youth at Rydboholms SK and Norrby IF . For the latter he made his debut in 1997 in the second highest Swedish division. In the following year he moved to the third division Skene IF , where he became a regular goalkeeper. Then took him in 2000 the first division IFK Göteborg under contract. There, however, he only played the role of substitute behind Bengt Andersson . In early 2005, he left the club after five years without playing in the Allsvenskan in the direction of Sandareds IF . He looked after the third division as a player-coach.

In 2006 Claesson moved abroad and joined the Norwegian club Raufoss IL , who played in the third division for promotion to the Adeccoligaen . There he was a regular player straight away and rose to the second division at the end of his first year in Norway. There he was with the team in a relegation battle, but was a regular goalkeeper until the summer and played 18 second division games. In August, his compatriot Alexander Nadj, on loan from IFK Göteborg, pushed him between the posts. Although the team reached a non-relegation place with eleventh place in the table, the club received no license for the following year and had to be relegated. Nevertheless, he remained loyal to the club in the third division and was again a regular goalkeeper. At the end of 2008 he was about to return to Swedish football after a trial session at IF Elfsborg , but ultimately decided to extend his contract with Raufoss IL.
