Association of Private Breweries

The Association of Private Breweries is the umbrella association of medium-sized breweries in Germany that do not belong to any brewery group, with its headquarters in Munich . There are offices in Berlin , Freiburg im Breisgau and Limburg an der Lahn .

There are also four regional associations: the Private Brauereien Bayern e. V., the Private Breweries Baden-Württemberg e. V., the Private Breweries Mitteldeutschland e. V. and the Association of private medium-sized breweries in Northwest Germany e. V.

Task and activities

Seminars, information and advice are offered. Since 2004, the association has organized the European Beer Star beer competition every year at the Brau Beviale trade fair in Nuremberg. This has established itself as one of the most important competitions worldwide.

Every year the association awards the Bavarian Beer Order at the Brau Beviale .
