Rickey Green (born August 18, 1954 in Chicago , Illinois , United States ) is a retired American basketball player who played for 15 years on the position of point guard in the NBA .
Career
Green played for eight different NBA teams between 1977 and 1992. His most successful time was with the Utah Jazz , with which he was under contract for eight years. There he played alongside Adrian Dantley , Karl Malone and John Stockton , who inherited Green in 1987 as the starting point guard for Jazz. In 1984 Green was invited to the NBA All-Star Game . He had his best individual season in 1982/83 when he scored 14.3 points, 8.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
