Ricky Veichtlbauer (born January 21, 1948 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). She was a member of the Federal Council from 1982 to 1984 and a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 1984 to 1994 .

education and profession

Veichtlbauer was born in the city of Salzburg and attended elementary school in Salzburg- Itzling from 1954 to 1958 . She then graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium Salzburg from 1958 to 1962 and then switched to the commercial school in Salzburg from 1962 to 1964. After graduating from commercial school, she worked from 1964 to 1965 as an employee in the office of the State Social Council at the Office of the Salzburg State Government, after which she spent the period between 1965 and 1966 in England , where she obtained the Certificate of Lower Cambridge. After her return, she worked from 1966 to 1968 as an office clerk in the accounting department of the “Salzburg” housing cooperative and then from 1968 to 1969 as an employee in the press department of Tauernkraftwerke AG. From 1969 to 1984 she was a housewife looking after her two children and from 1972 to 1984 she also worked part-time as a part-time employee or at home for the Chamber of Labor and Employees. In 1994 she became managing director of KOKO-GmbH (contact and communication center for children) in Salzburg, since 2002 she has also been offering freelance coaching in person-oriented advice in a professional context. In 2004 she also became a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Work in Salzburg.

Politics and functions

Veichtlbauer joined the Socialist Party of Austria in 1966 and was state chairman of the SPÖ women in Salzburg from 1982 to 1994. From 1982 to 1994 she was a member of the state party presidium and from 1984 to 1994 deputy state party chairman of the Salzburg SPÖ. She was also a member of the SPÖ federal party executive. Furthermore, she worked as the deputy federal woman chairwoman, was the regional chairman of the Salzburg Children's Friends from 1980 to 1994 and chairwoman of the SPÖ section Lehen-Nord from 1980 to 1984, making her the first female chairman in the state of Salzburg. She represented the SPÖ Salzburg from March 31, 1982 to May 15, 1984 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the Salzburg State Parliament from May 16, 1984 to May 1, 1994. From 1989 to 1994 she was also the chairwoman of the SPÖ state parliament club. In addition, Veichtlbauer was from 1983 to 1990 chairwoman of the "Heimhilfedienst" association and a member of the family policy advisory board of the Salzburg state government.
