Rico Gulda

Rico Gulda (born April 9, 1968 ) is an Austrian pianist , cultural manager and producer .

Life

Rico Gulda was born as the third son of Friedrich Gulda in Zurich , grew up in Munich and received his first piano lessons at the age of five. From the age of twelve he studied with Ludwig Hoffmann and later with Noel Flores at the Vienna University of Music . Master classes with Dmitri Alexandrowitsch Baschkirow , Oleg Maisenberg and work with his father Friedrich Gulda completed his training.

Gulda appears as a soloist, chamber musician and with orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz . An artistic and private friendship connects him with the baritone Florian Prey . With his brother Paul Gulda and the pianist Martha Argerich , he has played numerous concerts in recent years dedicated to the memory of his father. Gulda has recorded several CDs and is also active as a cultural manager and producer.
